Second shoot with Rachel

I think Rachel has friends in high places, two shoots with her and both had sunshine ! The air was cool, the ground damp and colder. But having seen some images from the last shoot with Camilla and a few from the shoot with Helen, Rachel was determined to give it a go.

We did just one hour as I could see the cold starting to get to Rachel, but what an hour !

Matt, Rachel's partner had been able to come for this shoot, with Matt acting as lookout Rachel and I could concentrate more on the photo's, just as well as where we worked is a popular spot with walkers and climbers. We didn't see any climbers but there were numerous walkers. As the location is quite big and varied we were able to move around to avoid onlookers.

The shots on the rocks with a big sky behind are something I have wanted to do for years but thought it impossible because of the popularity of the location. Rachel visiting the location for the first time was as inspired as I and as determined to use the rocks. We had a brief window of time when we had the rocks to ourselves and so worked fast and furious.

Both Rachel and I are very pleased with many of the images we created together. It is definitely getting too cold now for further shoots this year, so we are both very much looking forward to next year and already making plans.

Tomorrow !

If the weather is as forecast and all goes to plan I shall be having my second shoot with the gorgeous and talented Rachel.

I have to say these last few weeks have been very good and very special for me, I am enormously grateful to these beautiful and talented young ladies who are also all very, very nice people adding to the pleasure of working with them hugely :-)

Update number 5 - Helen, up to date :-)

I had admired Helen for some time, as she lives around one hundred and fifty miles from me I didn't think there was much chance of us getting together :-( Then I received a message from her, she was heading north and would I be interested in working with her ? If so she could come my way :-) As with Camilla it was too good an opportunity too good to miss :-)

As the due date was only a few days hence numerous messages passed between Helen and I as we both like to build a rapport if possible before meeting. After talking lots via the internet I think we both felt we knew each other quite well already :-)

On the day poor Helen had to set off at 5.30am in order to work with me before going north. We started around 8.30am, a November morning that early and after night time rain the conditions were not very nice especially under foot ! Helen didn't want to get her trainers all muddy and opted to be bare foot for the bulk of the time. After the over night rain where the paths were narrow and well trodden they were also very muddy. Helen' feet were apicture in themselves !

But Helen is a real trooper and star, no matter how cold and how wet and muddy she just laughed constantly, we both did. She is one of the most likeable people I have ever met as well as a great model. We have both already decided that we have to work together again, but when it is warmer and drier !Again just a few pic's as few have been edited as yet :-)

Update number 4 - More with brilliant Camilla

Camilla had an afternoon shoot booked with another photographer near me and so asked if I wouuld be interested in working with her during the morning ? When Camilla asks, she doesn't need to ask twice ! Not only is she very talented, she is also a great young person, a total pleasure to work with :-)

In the ned the other photographer called off his arranged shoot, Camilla kindly said she would come to me as planned anyway, I decided the other photographers loss was my gain and said to Camilla we could do more hours if she wished. I am pleased to say she did :-)

I had told Camilla about the main location we were to use but she hadn't seen it. She loved it, it really fired her creativity which is always on a high anyway. Being November it wasn't very warm, mild for the time of year but not warm. but with a few warm up breaks she worked away brilliantly :-)

We finished off at off at another nearby location, by then I was getting cold never mind Camilla. I knew she was as she had lost her bubble and bounce, most unusual ! It was worth it though, we are both very pleased with many of the images :-) Below are just a few, I will upload more once edited :-)

Udate nuber 3 - Oona

I almost forgot, at the end of September I had a second shoot with Oona, how could I forget ! We had a gorgeous sunny day to work with and knowing Oona likes water I took her to a location I have known all of my life in the Dove valley on the Staffodshire Derbyshire border. Inevitably Oona had to go into the water, she wasn't in for long, it is known as one of the coldest rivers in England and it lived up to that reputation ! Oona hasn't really done much art nude before but has a lot of potential and appears to enjoy art nude work.

From the river we went to another nearby location I have known all of my life and which is usually very peaceful, again we co created some very nice images.

On the way back I wanted to show her one of my favourite stretches of the river where it passes through the village I grew up in. Oona loved it and quickly pointed to a spot she thought she would look good posed in. It is more screened now by trees much taller than when I was younger, but is still in the midle of the village, I wasn't sure we could do it. I stood and had a good look around, when I truned to Oona she was nude and ready ! :-)

Update number 2 - Auburn Rose

Around three weeks after the shoot with Mikayla I was lucky enough to work with Auburn Rose. Rachel lives around 20 miles from me but I only became aware of her a few days before we worked together ! Rachel has trained in ballet and so is very graceful and elegant even when simply moving around a location.

I decided a good place for us to work would be a disused quarry, the hard angular surfaces being a good contrast with Rachel's beautiful soft curves. Also it was only a few minutes drive for each of us :-)

Being October it was a gamble on the weather. The forecasts said it would be sunny if cool. When I set off it was grey and drizzly here in Derby, the ground was wet and cold, I thought this will not be pleasant for Rachel. But the further I travelled the better it got ! At the quarry it was sunny but with a cold wind. The sheer rock faces gave some shelter from the wind though and Rachel had wisely brought a warm bath robe. The location worked perfectly and Rachel was tremendous, nothing was too much trouble resulting in some great images :-)

We finished off at a nearby beauty spot which has various sculptures. One of them I and another model had used before but Jess couldn't go nude as we had wanted due to a couple sat on a bench nearby. This time we seemed to be alone so Rachel said she was good to try it. As Rachel quickly undressed I changed the memory card. When I turned around Rachel had disappeared, I turned a bit further, she was perched on the sculpture in her bath robe !

I was now ready so she deftly removed the bath robe. We kept hearing voices but couldn't see anyone, Rachel continued with some wonderful poses. Very quickly we had around 40 images ! We decided we had pushed our luck enough. Rachel quickly got dressed and non too soon, as an old couple appeared from amongst the trees lower down the hillside. Neither of us had to rush back home, so we went and got  a hot drink and had a long and interesting chat :-)

Lots to add !

Summer has passed and autumn begun, having had mixed and bland summer weather autumn has been quite good, amazing at times. Consequently I have done more shoots in recent weeks than the rst of the year ! With a lot to add I'd best get to it :-)

Update number 1 - Mikayla

Mikayla is from West Yorkshire, to save her some travelling I decided on a location between the two of us near Hathersage.

The location I had decided on is a popular spot with walkers amongst others, but with the school children incarcerated again I thought it would be relatively quiet, just right for a fairly new models first location shoot.

As we pulled into the car park I was filled with trepadation, I hate to think what Mikayla was filled with ? There were two full size and empty coaches, not to mention a few cars !

We decided we might as well go and have a look. The location being so large it looked almost deserted. We wndered away from the beaten track. Mikayla doesn't drive so Jon her partner had driven her down, smashing lad with a cracking sense of humour and another pair of eyes to act as lookout !

Mikayla was a litle nervous at first, can't think why ? But after about 30 minutes she was loving being nude in the sunshine. It was a very late and unlikely heatwave that week, Mikayla was a little too hot, that was nothing compared with Jon and myself , especially Jon, Mikayla had packed a suit case not realising she really ony needed her birthday suit, and Jon was having to carry the case everywhere !

Mikayla and Jon are both experienced climbers, so when the opportunity arose Mikayla was off. She called down to say she hadn't got her chalk, Jon pointed out she hadn't got anything !

Other visitors to the location appeared in the distance allowing us chance to move or for Mikayla to cover up. Except for one ! Just as Mikayla was draped head down over a millstone and helpless a young male jogger appeared from nowhere. I don't know who was most embarresed ?

Suffice to say a good time was had by all and Mikayla Jon and myself are becoming good friends :-)
